Sword and Laser

December 21st, 2012

Sword and Laser’s latest author profile is on that Joe Abercrombie fella, along with an interview via skype.  Ended up with a slightly ropey connection, so apologies for that.  Should you not be utterly sick of the sound of my voice by the end of it, you could listen to a longer and solely audio interview with me on Speculate!

That is all.

Cool, will watch. Now Hobbit review please!

    Nevermind, you haven’t seen it.

He he he, in that first clip, the Americans interviewers are deliberate in their use of the English covers and titles. Red country, not A Red country, etc.

It is a pretty good “Get up to speed with the Abercrombie Experience” attempt.

Just wanted to wish you and your family an amazing Christmas and new year.

Hmmmm… I haven’t seen it on my Geek & Sundry playlist yet, but I’m sure it’ll pop up eventually. S&L is kinda hit & miss for me. But the hit part is always stuff pretty much on point. Hopefully they hit you with some good questions.

IN THE MEANTIME… Happy Holidays and especially a Happy New Year to you and all the regulars on your blog! Love reading the comments just as well as the entries – great fan base you have there, Joe!

And now, without further ado… my wishlist (since you mentioned taking a break earlier this year):

    3. A Joe Abercrombie and Friends “Beer Off” to compliment the whiskey death match. Maybe readers send you bottles of craft beers?

    2. A canon unrelated short story. Actually, more short stories period! Just got sucked in to the big book of Ballard and have realized how I’ve been reading too many novels lately.

    1. A classic, original AD&D module by Joe Abercromie! You even talk about mulling this idea over and it would drive the internets crazy!

Stay well err’body! And best to you and yours, Joe!

Having not yet read Red Country (i know, i know), will watching this video spoil anything in it for me?

  • Aidan says:

Edit: NOW i have it 😀

Enjoyed that, will probably watch more of their programmes. One question, have always had a red beard? As a Scot I am unable to grow any facial hair without looking like yossemy Sam. Are you of Celt heritage, you are of course a Northener?

Sword and Laser have a good setup there. Wonder why I haven’t heard of them prior to now.

The idea that Veronicas Belmont could be a Joe Abercrombie fan is almost too much geek awesomesauce for my tiny brain to handle.
