Copies of Half a King should be readily available at all events, even the ones before the 3rd July publication date.  Lunchtime events tend to be signings of a queue up and get your book signed variety, evening events tend to be ticketed and follow a short talk, reading, Q&A style format, followed by signing.  It would be only good manners to buy something from the store that’s hosting, but if you bring other books of mine to sign I’ll do my very best to oblige you. If you bring a lot of books (typically meaning you’re a dealer and are going to sell them) or have extravagant requests above and beyond simple signing and dedication, you might have to join the back of the queue and wait for the end.  We are somewhat at the mercy of the various shops’ staffing policies, so can’t absolutely promise to get to everything, but we certainly will try.

Incidentally, you will find dates for events in the US towards the end of July over here.

Hmm… You say the Oxford talk is on the 4th, but I just looked at the Waterstones website and it says it’s on Monday the 7th (I really hope you’re the right one here because I can’t make it on Monday D:). Can you please confirm which date’s the right one, or am I gonna have to phone them up?

  • Joe Abercrombie says:

Huh. I was told the 4th. I shall check and get back to you…

  • Phil+norris says:

  • Phil Norris says:

    Yeovil, hell yeah!!

  • Phil Norris says:

Would it be OK to get 2 books signed? I’m coming to the Yeovil event and have this year donated 2 signed books – Jen Williams & Richard Ford – for the BristolCon charity auction. If OK with you would like to do the same with one of the signed books from you.

  • Joe Abercrombie says:

Oxford is the 4th. A mistake on the Waterstones site, apparently.

Shopping in MK today my girlfriend pointed at the Waterstone board showing you’d be there signing, she recognised your name as I spend a lot of my time explaining why she should read all of your books. Hope to be there with a copy of The Blade Itself and Half a King!!!
