Thanks for the notification. I’d have been pissed to rock up to a closed book shop in Redondo Beach 🙂
Hopefully you’ll make a swing through Minneapolis, MN for an upcoming book! (might want to avoid it during the winter though)
Hell yeah. Mysterious Galaxy. See you in San Diego. Dude, I’m so stoked.
East coast visits or death!
Generally speaking, how long do your book signings last? I ask because I live a few hours from San Francisco, and it appears that is as close to me as you will be getting. So I was wondering how many hours to request off work.
As a disclaimer, I will use no response from you as an excuse to take the whole day off, so feel free to give no answer.
Dave,
I’ll be in Detroit in January, and may well venture further east if I can…
Patrick,
Typically I’ll talk for 5 minutes, read for 10 minutes, take questions for maybe 45, then sign for whoever’s there, and that really depends on attendance. Recent UK events I’ve been signing for 30mins to an hour. So I very much doubt you’re looking at longer than 2 hours, but often it depends more on the shop, who have to hire people to work and keep the doors open, so they sometimes want to hurry things along. Haven’t done US bookshop events before, so I’ve no idea how many people to expect…
