Heroic Wallpaper

October 27th, 2011

Sick of staring at the calming natural stylings of Apple or Microsoft’s default wallpapers?

Need a backdrop in more of a bloody yet humorous action fantasy mold?

Then today is your lucky day, because I note that Lauren Panepinto, art-meister general at my US publisher, Orbit, has produced some wallpapers using the new cover art from The Heroes.  What self-respecting fan of the works of Joe Abercrombie could be without?

    There’s so much manliness in that I now want to go eat my body weight in red meat and punch someone in the face.

    I’ll take one of the original hardcovers from the UK in a heartbeat. I like the new editions, but this one appears to be… “lacking a face” if I may use the term.

    Awesome! Set it as my background already.

    Oh if only this was for the uk covers, which are so rich and visually unique. They would make wonderful wallpaper.

  • Adam says:

    Yeah, I totally agree with Pete on this. Id be awesome to see the uk covers made into a wallpaper.

    It’s a nice attractive cover but I am not convinced it would be suitable for my work laptop. I currently have Eric Cantona (’66 was a great year for English football – Eric was born) for which I get enough stick. I respond that it is a religious thing and to ask me to remove it would be an infringement of my human rights. Having said that, the Heroes cover is great (prefer the UK ones though) and I think it is a nice touch to make it available.

  • Graham says:

    Cantona = Gorst maybe?

    I put it on my work laptop, and people thought it was a self-portrait.

  • David Montgomery says:

    It’s pretty grim but I would prefer the original cover art

    And what about t-shirts? I want a “Best Served Cold” t-shirt
