American Heroes

June 1st, 2010

Following hard on the heels of news that the UK release of The Heroes has moved forward to January, I can now reveal that my dark masters at Orbit US have decided to follow suit.  So:

The US edition should be in bookstores February 7th 2011, possibly even a few days before, and you can pre-order a copy HERE.

The UK edition should be in bookstores January 20th 2011, and not a moment before, and you can pre-order that edition HERE.

What about Australia? Or will it be smarter for me to order it from Amazon UK like last time?

  • Phil says:

That was a worthwhile visit to Amazon, pre-ordered The Heroes as well as The Dark Commands & The Evolutionary Void. Troubel is now I have to bloody wait!!! Grrrrrrr….

  • Susanne says:

Done! Wheee! Although I do wish the dreaded word ‘should’ could be struck from the publishing language in general. Let the waiting game begin.

My excitement is probably borderline ridiculous at the moment.

Hell yes. Feb will be a ruckus good time, I’ll be reading it in my bar, the Veteran, in Salem Oregon. Stop by Joe, I’ll buy you a drink.

  • ColinJ says:

Which shall I get earliest in Australia? That is the question…

    Chantal,
Calm yourself, you still have months to wait. Though your excitement is touching. On second thought, don’t calm yourself.

    Australians,
In theory you should get the UK edition in your bookstores. Exactly when, I’m not sure, but I’d hope it would be close to the UK release date. Failing that, the book depository seem to be good for importing UK editions. They do free delivery.

    Mike,
Different covers, different bindings, different settings, but in terms of the text, the US and UK editions should be identical.

@Phil: Thats three books I cannot wait to get my hands on!

Fantastic, I like it when we can get a book early as they generally seem to arrive in varying degrees of lateness, Publishing appears to be a black art. On the plus side it means I get through some of the back log I have accumulated over the years.

I shall look forward to the box arriving in the post, which by then I will have forgotten the date making it a fantastic surprise, and whichever poor luckless author’s book I am reading at the time will be shelved for an indeterminate period of time depending on how good it was…
